It is with sadness and certain nostalgia that I learn of the passing of Carlo Giavarini . Together we were founding members of the IBEF during the 1st world congress of bitumen emulsions in 1993. Carlo played a leading role in the creation of the IBEF, and the effort to promote use of bitumen emulsion throughout the world.
Carlo chaired the IBEF in 2001 and 2002. For 30 years, representing SITEB, Carlo consistently tackled the mission of the IBEF successfully.
Carlo will be missed and his name will remain in the history of the IBEF.
